At Campus dental we understand the differing needs of patients seeking orthodontic treatment. Some patients prefer a conventional approach to treatment.  Others prefer a simpler approach which focusses on moving only the six front teeth, or treatment with clear aligners where there are no braces fixed to the teeth. Dr Verteouris will take the time to thoroughly assess your case and treatment needs in order to recommend the appropriate treatment method(s) for you.

Convential Orthodontic Treatment

How do they work?

Conventional braces work using individual brackets and archwires to move your teeth into position. Each bracket is fitted to the surface of your tooth and the archwire is slotted into these brackets. As the archwire has elastic memory it regains its original shape and gradually moves your teeth into their desired position.

How long do conventional braces take?

This depends on your orthodontic requirements and every case is different; however, you can expect conventional braces to take anywhere between 12 and 24 months.

Who are conventional braces for?

Conventional braces are suitable for all patients with a full set of permanent teeth. Although other orthodontic treatments are available, conventional braces are still an effective treatment option, particularly for the more complex cases.

What types of conventional braces are available.

Generally speaking there are two options: Metal or ceramic (tooth coloured). Dr Verteouris uses the Carriere® Self-Ligating Bracket System, Specifically designed to create beautiful smiles with low pressure, low force, and low friction, the Carriere Self-Ligating Bracket System has been created to give you an amazing smile with maximum comfort and a reduction in treatment length by an average of four months. With the Carriere Self-Ligating Bracket System, teeth are moved more naturally with a low-force/low-friction passive orthodontic system. These light forces are more compatible with your body than traditional, high-force brackets and allow for more efficient treatment and improved comfort. Plus, the low, smooth profile means less irritation to your lips and gums.

By incorporating the strength and function of traditional metal braces with the aesthetics of translucent ceramic, ceramic brackets can give you the same orthodontic results without the need for noticeable metal braces. They move teeth with the same efficiency as metal braces and are safe to use for patients of all ages.

Cfast Cosmetic tooth alignment

Cfast can give you an affordable, discreet way to the smile you have always wanted in 6 months or less.

What is Cfast?

Cfast is a gentle, minimally invasive treatment for adults that uses sound orthodontic principles to straighten the upper and lower front six teeth – the “social six” that make up your visible smile. Using a tooth coloured wire and clear brackets, it gently straightens your teeth to give you that beautiful smile you have always dreamed of.

How does it work?

Cfast uses special nickel-titanium wires to straighten your teeth in a controlled way. The treatment uses lighter forces than traditional orthodontics so it is more comfortable as well as much faster.

How can it be so much faster than traditional braces?

Traditional orthodontics focus on all you your teeth. Not just the “social six” so can take years of treatment wearing metal braces. Cfast focus on just the front teeth that make up your visible smile, so treatment time is far less compared to conventional orthodontic treatment.

What are the drawbacks?

Cfast is a comfortable, safe and affordable system to improve your smile. It is a cosmetic procedure and is not always suitable if specialist or complex orthodontic treatment is required.

Will the teeth stay straight after treatment?

After completing the Cfast treatment you will need to wear a retainer to support your teeth in the new position and help to prevent relapse. You can choose from different retainer options, ideally with a bonded retainer placed after the Cfast treatment.

Clear Aligner Treatment

What is It?

Clear Aligner Treatment  uses a series of invisible, removable, and comfortable aligners that no one can tell you’re wearing. So, you can smile more during treatment as well as after.Clear Aligner Treatment is made with 3D computer imaging technology and has been proven effective.

Why Would I Want It?

Not only are the aligners invisible, they are removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment. Plus, brushing and flossing are no problem. They are also comfortable, with no metal to cause mouth abrasions during treatment.

How does it Work?

You wear each set of aligners for about two weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week – until they have straightened to their final positions. You’ll visit us about once every six weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned. Total treatment time typically lasts from 5 to 15 months but this may vary for individual cases depending on the number of aligners needed.
