Are there any students working on patients at Campus Dental?
We are a fully licensed practice with a highly qualified staff who have attended assistant training courses. We also occasionally employ dental students as assistants, however all dental treatment is performed solely by Dr Peter Verteouris and Kathy Lee.
Do you only take students as patients?
No, everyone is welcome, in fact our patient base includes students, faculty as well as the general public.
Are dental X-rays safe?
Dental X-ray tools and techniques are designed to limit the body’s exposure to radiation and every precaution is taken to ensure that radiation exposure is As Low As Reasonable Achievable (the ALARA principle). We use digital X-ray film which requires less radiation exposure that conventional film. Furthermore, a leaded apron and thyroid collar is always used to minimise exposure to the abdomen and thyroid when any dental X-ray is taken.
What procedures are performed at Campus Dental?
We provide are range of services including preventive e.g. cleaning and fluoride treatments, restorative e.g. tooth coloured fillings, cosmetic e.g. whitening. All services are described in the “services” section of this website.
Are your fees lower than other surgeries?
Our fees are set in accordance with the ADA Dental Fee Guide, and are comparable to most dental offices.
If I have insurance coverage, do I have to pay for anything?
This depends on your health insurance plan and the coverage that it provides. Insurances companies will often use their own discretion when you are claiming for certain complex treatments such as orthodontics and implants . Any amounts remaining after your insurance plan has paid are your responsibility. We are members choice providers for Medibank Private, BUPA and CBHS.
How do I make a Health Insurance Claim?
We offer the convenience of on the spot HICAPS claims. Simply bring your health insurance card with you on the day of your appointment and we can process your claim on the spot. In most cases a gap payment will apply.
Are you preferred providers for any health funds?
Yes, we are MEDIBANK PRIVATE, BUPA and CBHS preferred providers. This provides added benefits for members of these particular health funds when treated at CAMPUS DENTAL with lower or NO GAP payments for most general dental procedures such as examination, scaling and restorations (tooth coloured fillings).
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all EFTPOS and credit card payments (excluding AMEX and Diners) as well as cash payment. We do not accept personal cheques. All payments must be made on the day of treatment unless prior arrangements have been made with management.
If I am an international or exchange student, do I have coverage through the University?
International and exchange students do not have coverage though the University and OSHC (overseas health insurance) does not normally cover any dental treatment.
Can I get a discount if I am a Sydney University student?
Yes, we offer discounts to all current access card holders. Campus dental may also offer special promotions from time to time which will appear on www.campusdental.com.au and CAMPUS DENTAL USYD on Facebook.

What are your opening hours?
We are open Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:30pm including university vacation times.
We are closed on public holidays and at end of each year for approx. 1-2 weeks.

Is there wheelchair access?
Yes we have wheelchair access via a lift which is accessible from the sliding glass doors on Butlin Ave (please contact surgery on 96928900 for further directions)
What other languages (apart from English) are spoken at this surgery?
Dr Verteouris is fluent in Greek and Dr Lee is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese
